I’m doing NaNoWriMo this month, and it’s not just Camp NaNo where you can make your own word count goals and take it easy. Nope, this time it’s the real thing, with 50,000 words in 30 days. It’s hard. I made it through the first week okay, and got hung up because of a trip to Buffalo and my birthday. Oh yeah, and I had to run an experiment and have to make a whole load of corrections to my thesis to get it ready for publication. And prepare a talk for December. Still, I’m going to keep trying. I’m about 5,000 words behind now, so to inspire myself I wrote this post to show how committed I am. I also put up a nice little widget on this blog’s homepage that shows my progress each day (red is bad, green is good). Wish me luck – it’s back to writing for me!
